That instinct never left when I crossed over into travel. It just found a better use.
I've traveled to six of the seven continents. I've stood ankle-deep in the mud of Tanzanian foothills at the base of Mount Meru. I've felt the particular silence of the Caribbean at dawn and the particular electricity of Europe at dusk. I've chased the wild, transformative edges of the world — the kind that don't appear in highlight reels but live in you long after the flight home.
And I've brought two young children along for as much of it as possible, because I believe travel is the finest education money can actually buy.
